Common questions
- Does this measure my battery's capacity in kWh?
- No, and no report honestly can. Tesla's Fleet API does not expose measured battery pack capacity. What it does expose is rated range, which is why this report describes range retention and says so explicitly rather than dressing it up as a capacity measurement.
- Will a report hurt my listing if the number isn't perfect?
- Range declines with age and mileage on every EV, and buyers know it. A figure in context — with the model year, the mileage and the charging pattern alongside it — reads very differently from an unanswered question. You also see the report before you share it; nothing is published until you choose to share it.
- Do you need my Tesla password?
- No. Authorization happens on Tesla's own sign-in page through their official OAuth flow. We receive a scoped, read-only access token and never your credentials. We cannot unlock, start or control your vehicle, because we never request those permissions.
- How current is the data?
- It is collected at the moment you authorize, and the report records that date prominently. A report is a snapshot, not a live feed — we do not keep polling your vehicle afterwards.
